Caroline González Scott, Interim Vice President, Leadership Development and Design, Senior Director, Regional Leadership Development, Leadership for Educational Equity
Caroline Gonzalez Scott serves as the interim Vice President of Leadership Development and Design / Senior Director of Regional Leadership Development, where she with supports regional staff in the design and delivery of high-impact programming to advance our members’ skills and effectiveness in politics, policy, advocacy and organizing. Prior to joining LEE, Caroline served as Associate Director of Leadership Programs at the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute (CHCI), where she oversaw the management and development of CHCI’s Public Policy Fellowship Programs, seeking to enhance participants’ leadership abilities, strengthen professional skills and produce more competent and competitive Latino professionals for the public and private sectors. Caroline also worked with Reading Is Fundamental, where she developed and facilitated presentations on topics including language and literacy development, family literacy and engagement, and school-community partnerships at over 200 schools and community organizations across the country. A native of California and daughter of immigrants from Uruguay, Caroline is also a former teacher, having taught Spanish and ELL at Garnet Patterson Middle School in Washington DC. She continues to work with former students in providing them resources and mentoring for college, the job market, and civic engagement within their communities. Caroline is a graduate of American University and George Washington University’s Graduate School of Education and Human Development.
