Christine Pierce, Senior Vice President of Data Science, Nielsen
Christine Pierce is the SVP of Data Science at Nielsen. In this role she leads a team of statistical, social, behavioral, and computer scientists who support Nielsen’s audience measurement products. Her organization provides expertise in audience estimation, sampling, survey research, statistical modeling, predictive analytics, and organic ”big data” measurement. She has the honor to lead this talented team as they tackle the industry’s toughest challenges including audience fragmentation and cross-platform measurement.
Christine earned her Master of Public Policy degree from the University of Minnesota and a graduate certificate in Applied Statistics from Pennsylvania State University. Before joining Nielsen in 2002, Christine performed survey research for a non-profit foundation. She is involved in several professional organizations including the American Association of Public Opinion Research (AAPOR) and the Advertising Research Foundation (ARF). She sat on the board of directors for the Association of Public Data Users (APDU). She frequently represents Nielsen at research conferences and has authored papers and presentations for AAPOR, APDU, and the Population Association of America (PAA).
In 2014, she was selected for Nielsen’s Global Leadership Program and was a recipient of the COO’s Leadership Award in 2013. Christine achieved her Executive Black Belt certification in 2015.
Christine and her husband, Ryan, have two inquisitive and affectionate young children. Ryan, a lawyer by training, is broadening his negotiation skills in ways he never imagined as the primary caregiver for Meredith (9) and Owen (7). Having endured 13 Chicago winters, they relocated to the Tampa in 2014 and where they have rekindled their love of aquatic activities.
