German Cash, Director of Learning, Development and Inclusion, Leadership for Educational Equity
German Cash is the Director of Learning, Development, and Inclusion for Leadership for Educational Equity. Prior to joining LEE, he worked as the Political Director for the New American Leaders Project, where he recruited and trained first- and second-generation Americans to run for public office. German was born and raised in Los Angeles, the son of immigrants from El Salvador and Nicaragua. Growing up in South Central LA, he witnessed and experienced at a very early age the social and economic marginalization of his community. He is fueled by a passion to bring positive change to his community, working to elect diverse leaders and enact public policies that help uplift and empower underserved and underrepresented populations. German has been involved in political campaigns and public advocacy work for several years. He has developed grassroots organizing experience working as a field organizer for federal, state and local campaigns throughout the country. German holds a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Southern California and a M.A. in International Affairs from Columbia University. His favorite pastimes are learning new languages and traveling.
