Michelle Persaud currently serves as director of Federal affairs for T-Mobile USA in Washington, DC, where she works in conjunction with the legal department and broader internal business units to shape legislative policy initiatives and represent the voice of T-Mobile on Capitol Hill. At T-Mobile, Michelle also serves on the Legal Diversity Task Force and the Legal Diversity Committee, where she works closely with internal corporate units to develop internal initiatives to increase diverse representation such as expanding law firm diversity, promoting relationships with diverse legal suppliers, developing mentoring programs for diverse students and interns, and promoting diversity within the legal department.

Michelle joined T-Mobile back in 2007 after serving as Majority Counsel and Democratic Whip for the House Judiciary Committee, where she acted on behalf of the Committee and its Chairman John Conyers, Jr., the Dean and a founder of the Congressional Black Caucus, to drive the Committee’s focus on matters of civil rights, civil liberties, and immigration. During her time on the Committee, Michelle also worked closely with Democratic Leadership in the House and Senate on various legislative policy initiatives that included drafting lobbying reform legislation, shaping antitrust and competition policy, and overseeing the enforcement of the antitrust laws during corporate mergers and acquisitions.
